Young Reporters for the Environment

Young Reporters for the Environment

An international program that encourages the pupils to explore environmental problems in their own vicinity, suggest solutions and report them.

  • Target audience: Elementary, Middle and High schools.
  • Type of activity: Annual educational programs.
  • Duration: September – March

The aim of the program is to encourage youth ages 11-18 to investigate environmental problems, find solution, report them, and disseminate powerful environmental message that will motivate change in their local communities and globally. The highlight of the program is that pupils can submit their work for the YRE national and international competitions. Every year the most inspiring, well-researched and creative YRE entries are assessed by a professional Jury and have the chance of being recognized on a global scale. The strict criteria to win the competition creates a platform for the pupils to excel and practice professional journalism skills to their highest level. EcoOcean is the sole operator of the program in Israel for the past 7 years.
